Welcome to the Highland Beach Police Foundation!

Dear Residents of Highland Beach

Greetings from The Highland Beach Police Foundation.

As many residents are already aware – thanks to some wonderful newspaper coverage and talk around town – The Highland Beach Police Foundation, Inc. (the “HBPF”) was formed in 2012 by a group of residents dedicated to helping the Police Department acquire the equipment, training, and technology desirable for a Police Department in a community like ours.

Volunteer Directors, with the endorsement of Police Chief Craig Hartmann, are seeking to identify and prioritize acquisitions that are beyond the scope of the Town’s budget but would contribute to the safety of the Town and enhance police services already provided.
The Internal Revenue Service recognizes as 501(c)(3) charities organizations that exist to reduce the financial burdens on government, and we have submitted our application for 501(c)(3) charity status which would make contributions to the HBPF tax deductible to the extent provided by law. (Contributions made before IRS approval are deductible but may be disallowed if our application is turned down.)

This letter of introduction is not a request for financial support at this time – but if anyone is inclined to make a contribution (as several residents have done), serve on the Board, assist with fund-raising, or suggest Foundation projects or goals, please write to us at our website (, or contact any of the Directors listed below.

We gladly support the Highland Beach Police Department, and thank Chief Hartmann for the encouragement and assistance he has provided to the Foundation as we develop a strong program to support our community and local law enforcement.

Thank you,

The Highland Beach Police Foundation.

Board of Directors:

  • Barry Axelrod (Chairman)
  • Greg Babij
  • Bob Crozer
